Care for Kids is a Toledo-based nonprofit dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children through collaborative philanthropy. One of their key initiatives is the annual Coat Drive, which has collected over 7,300 new, gender-neutral coats since 2019. In partnership with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo and Susie’s Coats for Kids, the drive has become a vital winter outreach effort. The Care for Kids Coat Drive kicks off with a high-energy event that helps launch months of collection efforts across the community. d2i supported the drive with a comprehensive promotional strategy, including creating kickoff banners, table stands, and press releases distributed to local media. Branded donation boxes were placed throughout the community to make it easy for people to contribute, while social media posts kept the community engaged and spread awareness. We also produced a highlight video showcasing the community’s involvement and the impact of the drive, which helped sustain momentum for the initiative.
For Care for Kids to effectively connect with supporters and expand their reach, a strong online presence was key. d2i designed and developed a user-friendly website that serves as a central hub for donors, volunteers, and partners. The site features detailed information about the Coat Drive, ongoing initiatives, and ways to get involved, all presented in a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate design. We also created a custom typeface for the Care for Kids logo to help establish a unique visual identity. The website was recognized with a Gold Addy Award and a Judge’s Choice Award, highlighting its excellence in digital design and creativity.
Our social media strategy played a crucial role in raising awareness for the Coat Drive and other initiatives. We created custom social media templates that maintained a consistent brand presence across platforms, posting timely updates to keep the community informed and engaged. By sharing personal stories from those impacted by the Coat Drive, our posts humanized the cause and fostered deeper connections. Carefully crafted content, videos, and calls to action generated excitement and increased participation, ensuring the success of the drive and expanding Care for Kids’ reach.
